What “Preparing for release” means
The material exists in the working catalog and may be going through technical, editorial, metadata, and rights checks. The status does not mean that the release has already been published, delivered to a partner, or that master ownership has been asserted by the label.
If an artist already has a final master, MOTA can begin with a file and metadata audit. If the project starts with an idea or demo, the pathway may also include music production, studio recording, a visual system, and launch content.

Catalog status
A public card does not replace the release rights register
The page presents working names, artist credits, card visuals, preparation status, and only public destinations separately approved for display. Master files, contracts, signatures, shares, payment details, correspondence, and service identifiers remain in the protected repository.
Before delivery
We verify the final master, metadata, writers, performers, producers, artwork, rights basis, territory, date, platforms, and required restrictions.
After delivery
We retain the delivered version, date, recipient, identifiers, platform feedback, and confirmation that any issue was resolved.
When details change
A revised title, artwork, audio file, metadata set, or status receives a separate record; the previous version is not presented as current.

Start by listening to the brief
Inputs
Prepare a demo, lyrics, tempo and a few annotated sound references. Mark what is approved and what may change: structure, arrangement, voice, instrumentation or duration. For a series, agree a consistent sound identity.
Working review
Before recording, check equipment, connections, quiet passages, headroom and performer comfort. Keep raw tracks separate from processed working versions. Review files should have clear names and dates.
Handoff
Check delivery against the agreed specification: master, alternate versions, stems and metadata. Confirm authors, performers and permitted uses before distribution. Preparing a project does not establish a confirmed release date.
